Paper of the highest public interest 2022

endowed with € 250

The magazine „Sports Orthopaedics and Traumatology – SOT“ has been published for more than 30 years. It is the official organ of the Society for Orthopaedic-Traumatologic Sports Medicine and the Association Physicians Germany e.V. and has become one of the leading scientific journals worldwide in the field of sports orthopaedics.

The editors, the publishing house Elsevier and the GOTS, annually award a prize to the scientifically published work that has generated the greatest interest among readers in the past year. In order to exclude any influence of a subjective nature, the editors and the publisher have decided to use the database of the publisher Elsevier for this purpose. In this way, the awarding of the prize takes into account which scientific work has been downloaded most frequently in its entirety from the Internet by interested readers.

The award ceremony will take place Saturday, June 17, 2023, 12:00 – 12:15 p.m. held in the Europa room.

Young Investigator Award 2023 – by Bauerfeind

endowed with 1st place: € 1,000, 2nd place: € 750 and 3rd place: € 500 To promote young scientists, the “GOTS Young Investigator Award – by Bauerfeind” forum is held annually as part of the annual congress. This gives young researchers (e.g. diploma students, scholarship holders, doctoral students, etc.) the opportunity to publicly present the results of their work and to come into contact with experienced scientists. Thematically, contributions are welcome from all areas of sports orthopedics, sports traumatology, biomechanics, and basic sports science. All submitted works are reviewed by an independent jury. Among other things, the experience of the participant plays an important role, so younger colleagues are evaluated differently than already experienced colleagues. At the forum, outstanding research work will be honored and at the same time the “GOTS Young Investigator Award – by Bauerfeind”, endowed with € 1,000, will be awarded for the best presentation. Deadline to submit papers was May 1, 2023.
